Rancho Cucamonga football players getting offers

Quarterback Angel Matute of Rancho Cucamonga has gotten his first offer. Cougars coach Nick Baiz confirmed that came from Arkansas State.

Matute, a 6-foot-4, 220-pounder, threw for 2,855 yards and 24 touchdowns last year as a junior.

He took over the starting post midway through his sophomore year and has been the incumbent there ever since.

Aaron Manning

Also, junior running back Aaron Manning got an offer from Northern Arizona. The Cougars had depth at that position but Manning was the leading ground gainer with 766 yards and 9 touchdowns.  He had two games of more than 100 yards.

The top draw from that team continues to be sophomore defensive Jaylon Redd who has offers from USC, UCLA, Washington, Arizona State and Colorado.

He was a first team All-Inland Valley and CIF selection last year.
