Chino Hills’ Tannon Snow still slugging away

Senior shortstop Tannon Snow of Chino Hills continues to add to her gaudy offensive numbers.

In the Huskies 16-6 first round playoff win over Vista Murrieta on Thursday Snow, who has signed with Washington, slugged a double and two home runs, accounting for eight RBI.

She had a two-run home run in the first inning while her grand slam home run came as part of a 12-run sixth inning.

The two home runs gave her 28, breaking the state’s single season record of 27. It also marked the 59th and 60th career home runs. She break the state career record in that category in the last game of the regular season.

“I have seen kids get on a hot streak, both in baseball and softball,” Chino Hills coach Mike Southworth says. “But this is absurd. I have never seen anything quite like this.”

Snow’s RBI numbers are equally impressive. She has 88 on the season (in 31 games) and 211 for her career.

The Huskies (24-9) play Anaheim Canyon in the second round of the playoffs on Tuesday.
