Etiwanda softball standout Dana Housley battling for her life

The softball community and Etiwanda High School family has been saddened by the news of a brain aneurysm sustained by Dana Housley during a travel ball game on Saturday.

Dana just competed her freshman year and played primarily on the junior varsity team although she did see time at the varsity level. Eagles coach Dave Masucci said Housley was going to be brought up to the varsity for the playoffs but she has been out with an unrelated illness.

She is in ICU at Kaiser in Fontana.

Masucci said the status of Tuesday’s playoff game at Murrieta Valley is still up in the air and he hasn’t had a chance to contact the CIF or the opposing school.
