San Dimas pitcher Peter Lambert has landed yet another honor. The senior right-hander was named Medium Schools State Player of the Year by Cal Hi Sports.

Lambert, who signed with the Colorado Rockies earlier this week, went 13-0 with a 0.34 ERA for a Saints’ team that was two wins away from ending the season undefeated and the No. 1 team in the state.

Lambert’s high school career ended with back to back complete game shutouts in the postseason. He gave up only one hit in a 9-0 win over La Quinta and then just three in a 1-0 win over Santa Monica.

He also hit .295 with 27 runs batted in.

Cal Hi Sports selected Joe DeMers of College Park of Pleasant Hill its overall Player of the Year. He was also the Large Schools candidate.

DeMers, who has signed with Washington, went 13-1 record with an 0.51 ERA, three no-hitters, including two straight, one perfect game and 103 strikeouts in 96 innings. At the plate, he was almost as impressive with a .447 average, and a team-leading six homers and 44 RBI.

The Small Schools Player of the Year was Nico Hoerner of Oakland Head-Royce. He hit .517 with 30 RBI and six home runs. He finished his high school career hitting .523 with 103 runs batted in, 118 runs scored and 10 home runs in 80 games.
