Los Osos High’s Paige Halstead starts play with Team USA

 
 Los Osos High School graduate Paige Halstead is spending the summer playing with the Junior Women’s National Softball Team.
The team is currently playing Argentina at Barber Park in Irvine. It is the first game of the World Cup of Softball which is taking place through July 5.
Halstead, a catcher who has signed with UCLA, was the top player for the Grizzlies and one of the marquee players in the Baseline League as well as in Southern California. She hit .568 with 16 doubles, 1 triple, 3 home runs, 36 RBI and 38 runs scored with 17 multiple hit games.
Halstead came in to pinch hit in the third and ripped a run-scoring single that made it 11-0.
