Los Osos lineman Cohl Cabral gets invite to All-American game

Los Osos high School offensive lineman Cohl Cabral has gotten an invitation to participate in the Under Armour All-American game on Jan. 2 at Tropicana Field in Tampa, Fla.

Cabral, who has committed to Arizona State, will be presented his jersey commemorating his selection at 10 a.m. next Wednesday in the school’s lecture hall.

He found out he was selected at the end of last school year but the announcements of players being chosen are just being made this week.

Cabral, a 6-foot-5, 250-pounder, is the No. 2 ranked center in the country in the 2016 class and the 28th ranked player in the state for all positions.

“I’m looking forward to learning from a lot of great coaches who have been in the NFL and playing with a bunch of guys that will probably get there too. It’s a great honor.”

He is the second local player to be selected for the prestigious game, joining linebacker Lokeni Toailoa of Carter.
