Picking the Thursday night prep football winners

There was an abbreviated schedule last week with most teams getting a bye before starting league play. I went 7-3 bringing my season total to 108-31.

It gets interesting now with everyone diving into league competition. Some of our teams with great records haven’t played quite the competition of others with lesser records.

On to tonight’s games . . .

Colony 28, Montclair 10 – The Titans got a much-needed win last week, beating Riverside Poly 39-0 in game that was much easier than expected. Reports of their demise were greatly exaggerated. Now that Colony is playing a more routine schedule the Titans should be able to flex their muscle. Montclair’s opponents are a combined 8-19. Take away the team to whom it lost, Pomona, and the four wins are over teams a combined 4-17.

Don Lugo 17, Alta Loma 10 – This one is a tougher call and this should be a closely contested game. I really like what I saw out of Don Lugo in the triple overtime loss to Chino so I’m going with the Conquistadores.
