An update on Upland baseball player Jacob Beltran

And now for some good news.

You all night remember Upland baseball player Jacob Beltran. He collapsed on a baseball field in January, having a seizure as the result of a malformation of a vein in his brain.

If you missed it or need a refresher, here is the link to my earlier story.

Lots of surgeries followed, although he miraculously came back and played his senior season at Upland. He was our So Cal Prep Legends Award winner for inspiration.

Jacob had a major surgery in June to remove the vein that had been he source of his problem. Well he has been cleared by his doctor, the vein is gone now and he’ll need no further follow-ups.

He gives all the credit to his doctor Marc Adam Vanefsky who works out of Kaiser in Anaheim.

Now he can focus on playing baseball without a worry. He had some interest from NCAA Division II schools before the health issue surfaced. But he will go to Chaffey College and play there in hopes of bettering his game so he has some more options in two years.
