Los Osos High School baseball standout Brandon Murillo has committed to NCAA Division III Willamette (Salem, Ore.).
He took a trip to the school Sept. 23 and liked what it had to offer in both athletics and academics. He plans to major in biology/pre-med.
“Of course everyone hopes to go to a Division I school growing up but I thought the Division III school was the best fit for me,” he said.
“It’s a great campus. I even got to sit in on a class and I think it will be a great place for me thrive on the field and academically,” he said.
Murillo has been on the Los Osos varsity since his sophomore year, being used primarily as a reliever. He is hoping to get a spot in the starting rotation this year.
“I really worked hard to get ready for this season and am hoping to showing what I can,” he said.
Willamette finished 20-18 last spring, including an 11-13 mark in the Northwest Conference.
