The Claremont boys and girls cross country teams continued their strong seasons with impressive finishes at the Asics Clovis Invitational on Saturday at Woodward Park in Fresno.
The boys placed second in a field of 23 with a point total of 105. That was well behind winner Great Oak which tallied 57.
Senior Ryan Renken led the Wolfpack with a 13th place finish in a time of 15:37.70 for 5,000 meters. Teammates Owen Bishop (15.46.70) and Anthony Lamar (15:47.20) were 22nd and 23rd respectively.
The girls placed fourth in a field of 23 schools. Senior Annie Boos was the top finisher with a ninth-place showing (17:56.20). Sophomore Sydney Hwang (18:11.40) was 21st and senior Jax Heckers 32nd (18:25.46).
Ayala also competed in the boys event and senior Stephen Kahn posted a fourth-place (15:12.50) that helped the Bulldogs secure a seventh place in the team competition. Junior Zach Arias was 14th (15:40.90).
