Local players prepping for All-American football game

The season isn’t quite over yet for three area football players who are scheduled to participate in the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl at 6 p.m on Jan. 5 at the StubHub Center in Carson.

That trio includes defensive back Jeff Farrar of Upland, wide receiver Erik Brown of Summit and offensive lineman Kammy Delp of Diamond Ranch.

Reputation and showing at summer combines played a role in the selection of the players.

The locals are looking forward to fraternizing with top players from all over the country.

“It should be fun because of the best,” said Farrar, who has already signed with Virginia. “It’s a chance for us to go out there one last time against great competition.”

Farrar said he had offers to compete in other All-Star games but this will be the lone one he participates in.
