Upland High School defensive back Kameron Powell has chosen a college and it is one also selected by a teammate last month.

The Highlanders standout has made a verbal commitment to Washington State, following in the footsteps of quarterback Tyler Hilinski, who did the same.

The 6-foot, 180-pound junior recorded 81 tackles, eight defended passes, with two fumble recoveries and two caused fumbles in helping Upland to a share of the Baseline League title. He was a first-team All-League selection.
