Mobile recreation unit out of commission
The city's Mobile Recreation unit began programming at Vineyard Park on Monday, Sept. 8. but shortly after was out of the commission for repair. The unit is under repairs but is expect to be back at the park on Wednesday, Sept. 17, said officials at the city's recreation department.
The Mobile Recreation program is designed to provide positive after-school recreational programs to children 7 to 14 years in areas of the community lacking community centers.
The unit will be parked on Mondays and Wednesdays on the northwest portion of Vineyard Park from 2:45 to 5:15 p.m. through the end of the year. Activities will include arts and crafts, homework helpers, games and physical activities.
