Reign game tonight

| | Comments (17)

So tonight the Ontario Reign will play just their second game at home at Citizens Business Bank Arena.
This reminded me that I haven't given y'all the low down about my experience during opening night with the Lakers as well as the following night at the Reign's homeopener.
Friday night seemed to go off with out any glitches. While all of the sports reporters were court side, I had a great view of the game up from the media box. When I got to the media box I joined Dieter Ruehle, the organist for the Lakers. I could tell, by the look on his face, that he shared my life-long journey of having to repeat or spell out our name to people. Dieter showed me his computer board and the keyboard that he would be using for the game.
It was interesting seeing the city council in anything but their usual council attire. Donning Lakers jerseys, the council met at center stage to participate in the inaugural tip-off.
As the game went on the media box began to get full but not with reporters but members of the AEG's IT staff, they were nice entertainment.
The sea of purple and gold were not only vocal but got the wave going during the third quarter of the game.
The loudest cheer came when Kobe re-entered the arena in the fourth quarter except this time he was in street clothes, but that didn't seem to bother the crowd.

Saturday was another eventful night with the Ontario City Council once again making an appearance to start the game. Doing his best Sarah Palin impersonation, Ontario Mayor Paul Leon participated in the ceremonial first drop of the puck.
The announcer congratulated Leon for "correctly dropping the puck to the Ontario Reign."
Prior to the game in the lobby of the arena were members of the Ontario Eagles trying to sell tickets. Lori Luyten the mother of one of the players said the arena had allowed the team, which plays at the ice rink on Holt, to sell tickets as a fundraiser for future tournaments.
The boys were pulling double duty. Aside from selling tickets at the start of the game the boys were also going to be playing a scrimmage game during the first intermission.
"I think it's awesome," said 11-year-old Angel Gutierrez.
Angel of Ontario, who has been playing hockey since he was 5 said he was not nervous but excited about going to the ice.
But that was a different story for Daniel Luyten of Chino Hills.
"I'm very nervous and excited about playing hockey in front of 9,000 people," said Luyten who is captain of the team.
Equally nervous was Daniel's mother, Lori.
"For us parents we dream of them one day being NHL players," she said.

It really does vary quite a bit, but there aren't usually a lot of the big ticket shows, like Cirque, Lance Burton, Penn & Teller, etc. It tends to be impersonator shows, sometimes a showgirl show or a revue. But the discounts can be pretty good ones, up to about 50%, so it's worth checking out.

Thank you for a great post

It's not that I want to copy your web page, but I really like the style and design. Could you let me know which design are you using? Or was it custom made?

Why is Constructing a Mosque at Ground Zero getting encouraged to come about? I have never heard something so totally bizarre in all of my entire life. If this really approaches fact, It might be the scariest thing of all time. yvette

Constructing a Mosque at Ground Zero has got to be the ignoramus plan during the history of the human race, I very seriously consider it to be intentionally meant, at very best, to insight controversy. I am not much of a conspiracy theorist still it is possibly shameful or noxious, quite possibly the two. adriana

Nice information, many thanks to the author. It is incomprehensible to me now, but in general, the usefulness and significance is overwhelming. Thanks again and good luck!

Building a Mosque at Ground Zero has got to be the bizzare notion during the history of mankind, I honestly consider it to be intentionally calculated, at very best, to insight controversy. I'm not much a conspiracy theorist however , it is either shameful or wicked, plausibly the two of them. virgie

Nice one. Thanks for writing such an insightful post. I have been trying to explain the exact same thing to my friends but I think it's better if I simply email them the link to this article instead!

Never underestimate the power of passion.
