Mark Your Calendar: Vedic Temple anniversary celebration

The Vedic Temple invites you to their first anniversary celebration and march for peace event.

The event will be held all day Sunday and will feature cultural shows, panel discussions and a Vedic Expo.

The expo will include children programs, meditation, saatvic/vegetarian cooking ayurveda, Vedic astrology and more.

The temple will also be the host to the third annual Kumbha Mela USA, or march for peace, to celebrate global peace.

This festival is based on the rich Vedic tradition which heralds in collective positive thinking and celebration to bring about global peace.

Below is a schedule of events:
8:30 a.m. the statues in the temple will be bathed
10 a.m. expo begins with panels and exhibits
1 p.m. Kumbha Mela assembly
2 p.m. procession
4 p.m. Grand Immersion of the Murthies/Deities in 21 river waters from India
4:30 p.m. Deities Arranged on Stage
5 p.m. inspirational words from spiritual masters
5:30 p.m. Maha-Arathi for all the Deities
6 p.m. cultural programs
Join as the temple from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at 9720 Central Ave., Montclair.
