UPDATE: Ontario HS Band named state champs
I got an e-mail from David Berry, the band director at Ontario High School informing the band had taken high honors in Saturday's competition.
In the e-mail he said "Out of the 43 bands competing in last Saturday's California State Band Championships Tournament held in San Bernardino, the Ontario High School Band had the highest scores in all three catagories (Music, Visual [marching], and General Effect) and was awarded the State Championship! "
This is the first time the band has competed in California State Band Championship which is judged by the Southern California Association.
"Our award actually say "5A Championship". 5A is the division with the largest bands. When compared to the other four divisions, Ontario still has the highest scores,"Berry said in the e-mail.
I forgot to mention that Shirley Herrera, the drum major, received the "Tournament Best Drum Major" award.

I would like to give a big thank you to Josue Rangle who is the director and choreography of Ontario High School Colorguard.Josue and his girls made the show a big hit.
Best way to end my senior year go drum corps, band, and color guard! :)
This will be the second championship for josh, his winterguard won it 3 years back! Way to go Josh!!!!!!!!!!!
this was a great opportunity and i am proud to have been able to have another year in band. this is something i will never forget.
hearing the announcer say "division 5A first place, Ontario High School!" it was hard to believe, but it was true and an awesome feeling. i am glad to be able to have worked with such great people. we did it!

it was an awsome being part of ohs band this is just my freashmen and i plan to be in band next year as well

They did an absolute terrific job. But know the band & colorguard are going to fall apart because of the new band director & the new coach.
