Event to raise funds through walking
Kara Lubin is walking away from teaching to focus on something else. Walking.
Lubin, a teacher for Corono-Norco Unified School District said she is taking a leave of absence so that she can manage The 100-Mile Club.
The non profit organization is a physical fitness and life skills project will encourage students to run or walk 100 mils in a single school year.
On March 14, the club will be holding their 2nd annual Walk for Kids fundraiser which raises funds for The 100 Mile Club® and participating chapters for 2009-10 year.
Lubin tells me that Colony High School and Creek View Elementary School are participating in The 100 Mile Club as well the Walk for Kids fundraiser.
Also, if you tune into Time Warner channel which host CNN Headline News from March 13- 14 you will see a segment about the organization. It will run 24 and 54 after the hour in LA, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties.
The fundraiser will be held at Cesar Chavez Elementary School, 1150 Paseo Grande, in Corona.
