Ontario to discuss mid-year budget report at meeting

| | Comments (0)
On Tuesday night the City Council will discuss having to reduce $3.93 million from their 2008- 2009 annual budget.
Among the items the council will discuss is eliminating 28 full time positions, 11 of those positions are currently vacant and the remaining positions are expected to be eliminated through retirements or promotions and transfers. The proposed elimination will save the city about $2.47 million dollars.
The remaining will come from reductions in budget of the Ontario Convention Center, $500,000. The city will also reduce over-time hours and part-time hours.

The city council meets Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m.
