Blue Ribbon Week in Ontario

| | Comments (3)
"Blue Ribbon Week" in the City of Ontario is held in conjunction with the "National Police Week."
"Blue Ribbon Week", which is May 10th - 16, encourages the public to demonstrate visible support for all law enforcement personnel by wearing a blue ribbon during the week.
The City also remembers the four officers killed in the line of duty while serving Ontario: Bernard Green, Louis Deluisse, Russell Grower and Dick Hyche. In addition, we honor the memory of Deputy Erik Telen, a former Ontario officer who lost his life on August 21, 2001 while serving for the Fresno County Sheriff's Department.
All residents, schools, churches and businesses in Ontario are invited to honor and remember all safety personnel.
Starting May 1, the public may purchase blue ribbon lapel pins for $1.50 at the front desk of the Ontario Police Department main station, 2500 South Archibald Avenue or the Mills Mall Station. All monies raised will go to LEO (Law Enforcement of Ontario), a non-profit organization helping those in need in Ontario. For more information on "Blue Ribbon Week", please contact Barbara White at (909)395-2493.
