Local Ontario Cub Scout saves brother's life
I recently spoke to Stuart Williams with Cub Scout Pack 306 and he informed that, Aric Rosenveldt, a 9-year old Webelos Cub Scout from Ontario was awarded the National Medal of Merit from the Boy Scouts of America.
The merit was given to him for saving his little brother's life in late 2007.
Since the review and award process is so lengthy the medal was awarded January 29 in a Pack Meeting with Aric's Cub Scout Pack, Williams said.
Apparently two weeks before the incident, Aric had just learned basic first aid, Williams said.
"So he recognized what was going on and use the heimlich to save his brother's life," he said.
Williams, who has been a scout leader for years said.
