Meeting date set for Ontario Plan discussion
The date has been set for the special City Council meeting next month that will discuss the final recommendations of theOntario Plan .
Originally, the council was expected to hold a special meeting on July 23, but a scheduling conflict with a councilmember has pushed the meeting to Aug. 12, Jerry Blum , the city's planning director.
At the meeting, the council will review and adopt the documents. It will be another nine to 12 months before programs in the Ontario Plan and General Plan are implemented, Blum said.
The revised general plan is included in the Web-based " Ontario Plan : A Framework for the Future," which provides a 20-year outlook of the city.
For the past several months, the City Council and the Planning Commission have been hashing out details and amendments tothe proposed plan . This is expected to be the last meeting on the plan .
The council will meet on Aug. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 303 E. B St., Ontario .
