36th annual Walk for the Hungry on Oct. 11

Inland Valley Hope Partners on Oct. 11 will hold its 36th annual Walk for the Hungry.
The 5K event begins and ends at Chaffey High School, 1245 N. Euclid Ave. in Ontario, and walkers will take a route though the historic College District. 
Walk for the Hungry is a family-oriented event, which will include free activities such as music, balloons, popcorn and face painting. 
Registration begins at noon. Walkers hit the trail at 1 p.m. 
Participants will collect sponsorships in support of Hope Partners' work from family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, teachers and others.
Hope Partners includes food pantries in Ontario, Pomona, Claremont and San Dimas as well as a family residential emergency shelter and a weekly farmers' market in Pomona. 
Hope Partners provides food for more than 800,000 meals annually as well as other services.
Admission is free. 
Non-perishable food items will be collected for stocking the food banks.
