Tips for A "Safe Halloween" from Easter Seals
-Go trick-or-treating while it's still light; take a flashlight with new batteries.
-When trick-or-treating, stay in a group, walk slowly, and communicate where you are going.
-Remain on well-lit streets and always use the sidewalk. Stay in your own neighborhood and visit the homes of people you know.
-Plan costumes that are bright, reflective and flame-retardant. Keep them short to prevent trips and falls.
-Wear comfortable, safe shoes.
-If you wear a mask instead of costume make-up, be sure you can see clearly and breathe easily at all times.
-Accept only wrapped, or packaged candy. Have an adult look at your treats before you eat any of them.
