Here is news from Easter Seals which has locations in Ontario and Upland:

Easter Seals Southern California Disability Services has named Peter Wingert to its board of directors as Parent Representative and Program Committee member.  The announcement was made today by Mark Whitley, president and chief executive officer of ESSC.

Wingert has worked directly with Easter Seals Child Development Center in Upland in recent years, where both his grandsons receive Head Start and Early Head Start Services for a special needs diagnosis, including speech and language delays.  As their guardian, the personal success of his grandchildren motivated Wingert to become more involved with Easter Seals as a parent ambassador.

"Peter Wingert brings to the board a deep understanding of the needs of people with disabilities and their families. Peter was a natural choice for the board due to his extensive involvement with our Child Development Center in Upland and his role as a parent ambassador. We are privileged to have Peter acting as a voice for the people we support," says Whitley.

"I am very committed to Easter Seals and strongly believe in its mission to support all people with disabilities and special needs and their families to have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play in their communities," says Wingert. "As a grandfather and guardian to two boys with special needs, I understand the challenges facing families living with a disability. I am very excited to help shape the essential services of this nonprofit organization from a parent's perspective."

Wingert currently serves as General Manager at American Waste Unlimited, where he has worked since 1987.  Wingert earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from California State University Northridge.
