Goodbye Greg Devereaux, Pete Carroll

| | Comments (0)
It was a tough week for Councilman Alan Wapner and it showed Tuesday night at the meeting. As the council was taking their turns thanking outgoing city manager Greg Devereaux, Wapner starting his comments by reading out several USC stastics as if they were Devereaux's accomplishments.
The USC alumn and football-loving councilman stopped himself by saying, "oh wait, that's the other guy I lost this week." He was of course referring to former USC football coach Pete Carroll who took a job with the NFL Seattle Seahawks.
His comment was met with laughter from Devereaux and everyone in attendance.
"It's been a tough week," he added.
Wapner, who said he also considers Devereaux a friend teased his former city manager by saying, "we don't have to hear 'go West Virginia,' anymore."
Devereaux received his bachelor and Juris Doctorate from West Virginia University.
