News release from Best Best & Krieger:

Best Best & Krieger LLP has hired Jonathan M. Lamb as an associate attorney in the firm's municipal law practice, whose lawyers serve as city attorney to more than 30 cities throughout California.

Lamb, a summer associate with the firm in 2008, will be based at BB&K's office in Ontario - the same Inland city where he grew up.

"BB&K was an easy decision for me," Lamb said. "I wanted to work for the public good, in fact I believe we have a social responsibility to do so, and BB&K affords me that opportunity."

Lamb, 27, graduated last year from Pepperdine University School of Law, where he was the managing editor of the Pepperdine Law Review and published an article on classified evidence in national security trials. He holds a master's degree in public policy and international relations from Pepperdine University, and a bachelor's degree in politics from Pomona College.

During law school, Lamb interned at the FBI's Office of General Counsel in the employment law unit and worked as a judicial extern for U.S. District Judge Terry J. Hatter, Jr. in Los Angeles. He was admitted to the State Bar of California last month.

BB&K attorney Dean Derleth, who oversees BB&K's municipal law practice from the firm's Los Angeles office, praised Lamb's experience.

"He has a great background and will be a unique addition to our firm of diverse municipal experts," said Derleth, who is the city attorney of Colton and Corona.

In addition to serving as city attorneys, BB&K's municipal lawyers help cities with many specialty areas, including redevelopment efforts, infrastructure needs, employment issues, climate change and other sustainability projects.

Lamb, whose wife is attending the University of Southern California, lives in downtown Los Angeles.

Jonathan, congratulations. I believe BB&K are fortunate to retain your services. Good luck for a long career in muni law.

You made some good points there. I did a search on the topic and found most people will agree with your blog.
