Managing for self-sufficiency: focus of water conference
Southern California has seen rain in recent days but but that's not enough to makeup for the drought the state is in.
On Feb. 8, experts in the region will gather for the conference in Ontario that tackles ways to be more self sufficient. Water Resource Issues: Southern California - Managing for Self-Sufficiency is being organized by the Association of Ground Water Agencies.
There will be four panels, all focusing on issues with water. The first panel will discuss the regional solutions to "Bridging the gap between now and a Delta solution." Another panel will look at the "federal role in creating self sufficiency."
The keynote speaker will be William Mills, president of Yorba Linda Water District Board of Directors. Williams will focus on Water Managers' perspective on supply options for southern California.
The all day conference will be held at the Holiday Inn, Ontario Airport, 2155 E Convention Center Way, Ontario. To register visit www.agwt.org
