Statement from Supervisor Biane on CAO Selection
San Bernardino County Second District Supervisor Paul Biane released the following statement Tuesday on the selection of Ontario City Manager Greg Devereaux to serve as the County's new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
"Former County CAO Mark Uffer ran an efficient and effective organization during his tenure, and Mark's focus on improving customer service and building a healthy budget reserve continue to serve the County of San Bernardino today.
"With 18 years of experience as a City Manager, Greg brings new skill sets to the CAO position, and I'm pleased to join my colleagues and County staff in welcoming him aboard. Greg will be a tremendous asset as the County focuses on the delivery of services to our unincorporated communities. Greg's extensive municipal experience will also be important as we continue to work with our 24 incorporated cities to build new infrastructure and improve our local economy to preserve existing jobs and create new employment opportunities.
"I'm very excited about Greg's ability to succeed in the ever-complicated and ever-changing redevelopment arena. The Speedway Redevelopment Area is San Bernardino County's largest and most successful redevelopment project to date, and it is located in the Second District, which I represent on the Board of Supervisors.
"The Speedway Redevelopment Area is poised to grow and generate new jobs and economic opportunities, and I believe the businesses and residents in the RDA will benefit greatly from Greg's redevelopment expertise."

Paul the octopus was right. Way to go Paul!
