The West End Chapter of the Gangs and Drugs Task Force in great collaboration with the Ontario Police Department is hosting the Alcohol Policy Conference on May 13 in Chino. This uniquely engineered conference will offer step-by-step plan development, tool kits and technical assistance to city groups looking to improve alcohol related issues or those looking to implement a Social Host Ordinance.

Cities are encouraged to attend as teams to hear presentations from Joe Cruz the Southern California Regional Director of the Alcohol Beverage Control, Attorneys Marco Martinez and Matthew Silver from Best, Best and Krieger, Jerry Blum, Director of the Ontario Planning Department, Fontana Councilmember Frank Scialdone, Andy Wingert, Supervisor for Ontario's Code Enforcement and Officer Fred Alvarez, ABC compliance and enforcement officer for Ontario Police Department.
This free conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May 13, at Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, 4201 Eucalyptus Ave., Chino, CA 91710. To register for this informative presentation please contact Mike Parmer at 909.982.8641 or mike@we-reachout.org.
The Alcohol Policy Conference is being held to inform local governments and key leaders throughout San Bernardino County on available local alcohol policy options that address alcohol accessibility and promote accountability. These local policy options presented can reduce the drain on community resources, promote positive business practices, and create a positive social norm that underage drinking is not acceptable in our communities
Officer Alvarez with support from Ontario Police Chief Eric Hopley encourage cities business owners and community members, to work collaboratively to help remedy serious alcohol related issues in the West End of San Bernardino for safer, healthier communities.
Each group will receive copies of ordinances and other useful tools that can be modified and tailored for each city.
It is important for cities to understand the art of collaboration in this issue to help prevent alcohol issues from spreading or jumping from city to city.
The West End Gangs and Drugs Task Force is part of the San Bernardino Countywide Gangs and Drugs Task Force. The Task Force was established in 1989 as a community response to increase awareness and to ensure the safety and development of local youth.
