Mayor Leon named to board

At the previous meeting, councilman Alan Wapner had suggested the council rethink who they nominate to fill the recent vacancy on the West Valley Mosquito & vector Control District.
Before introducing the item for discussion, Mayor Paul Leon chimed in with "I'm itching to find out what he has to say about that."
Traditionally, the council had filled the position by nominating residents, Wapner said.
But Wapner said he prefer that the council now fill the position with an elected official since its a policy-driven board, he said.
Wapner nominated Leon, which was then approved by the council.
