The City Council had a rare guest on Tuesday night — a reindeer.

There was a special guest at the Ontario City Council meeting on Tuesday night.

Well, it was someone dressed in a reindeer costume there to promote the city Recreation and Community Services Department’s eighth annual Ontario 5K Reindeer Run, featuring Rudolph’s Dash, a 1-mile Family Fun run/walk.

The Reindeer Run will be held Dec. 8 at Citizens Business Bank Arena. All proceeds will benefit Ontario-Montclair School District’s Promise Scholar Program.Participants can register as an individual for $25 or as a team of five or more for $20 per person through Nov. 21.

Rudolph’s Dash is $8 per person or $24 for a family of four.
