Ontario Councilwoman Debra Dorst-Porada offers event information

You can count on Councilwoman Debra Dorst-Porada to provide you with the latest happening in the city.
At the March 5 council meeting, Dorst-Porada took the opportunity during council comments, to talk about a variety of things residents should know.
First she started out by congratulating the Chaffey High Academic Decathlon team which won the San Bernardino County competition in February. This marks the fourth win in five years for the school, she said.
“I’m so excited for these kids to be able to pull it off another time, they worked so hard,” she said.
Wish them luck because they are now competing in the state competition this weekend in Sacramento.
Dorst-Porada said she, Barbara Hartley and Sheila Mautz recent attended an event recognizing the Police Explorers.
“Another great group of kids. Without those kids we just don’t know what we would do without them,” she said about their involvement in various community events.
Save the dates: the Emporia Arts District will hold an artwalk on Saturday in the evening. Meanwhile, Ontario Heritage is planning a downtown walking tour on March 23 from 10 a.m. to noon.
