Here is a release I received about a blood drive at Ontario Main Library

LifeStream, the new name for the Blood Bank of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, invites all healthy residents to give the gift of life on Feb. 5 from 1 to 7 p.m. at City of Ontario Library, 215 East "C" Street in Ontario.
For every lifesaving donation, participants receive points as part of the "Gift of Life" Donor Loyalty Program that may be redeemed for items through LifeStream's online store. For more information or to schedule an appointment, visit www.LStream.org or call LifeStream at 1.800.879.4484.

Healthy individuals at least 15 years of age may donate blood. (Those 15 and 16 years of age must provide LifeStream with written parental consent. Parent consent forms are available at any donor center or community blood drive. All prospective donors should be free of
infections or illness, weigh at least 110 pounds and not be at risk for AIDS or hepatitis. Donors receive a free mini-physical as part of the donation process. Donating blood takes about an hour, yet gives someone a lifetime.
LifeStream, the new name for the Blood Bank of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, was founded in 1951 as a private, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization by the medical societies of San Bernardino and Riverside counties. The Blood Bank serves 42 medical facilities in

The Ontario City Main Library will host a new traveling exhibition "Visions of the Universe: Four Centuries of Discovery" at the Main Library, from Jan. 26 through March 27, 2009.

Visions of the Universe uses dramatic imagery from Galileo's observations to the Hubble Space Telescope and other space missions to show how our understanding of the universe has changed over the last four hundred years.  The exhibition vividly illustrates planets, stars, nebulae and galaxies, and discusses the size and scale of the universe in both space and time.  Visions of the Universe is part of the International Year of Astronomy, a global celebration of astronomy and its contributions to society and culture.

The Ontario City Library was one of 40 sites in the United States, and the only one in California to receive this award.

The exhibition is sponsored by the American Library Association, Chicago, IL (ALA), the Space Telescope Science Institute, Baltimore, MD (STSci), and the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, Cambridge, MA.  The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) provided funding for this project.

The Ontario City Library will be offering free programs and other events in connection with the exhibit.  Please call (909) 395-2004 or visit the library's website www.ci.ontario.ca.us/library for more details.

So I came across this event the Ontario Library is going to hold next Friday, January 9. "StarLab Stories for Families," is an event where the whole family can experience the night skies in a portables planetarium. There will also be a storyteller.

That made me wonder ? What does a portable planetarium look like and who are the storyteller's?

Well the storyteller's are all students who go through a program to learn how to run the portable planetarium, discover astronomy and star gazing, and explore potential career opportunities, including teaching.

By the way, I'm still trying to figure out what the portable planetairum looks like.

The event will be Friday, January 9 from 4:45 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. at Ontario's Main Library,

For more information call (909) 395-2014.
