Outfest 2006: Queer Hip Hop

hiphop.jpg

A movie that wasn't included in Sunday's Outfest preview but seems worth noting is "Pick Up the Mic," a documentary about the world of gay, lesbian and transgenered rappers. It features more than a dozen artists and was shot over a three year period. Haven't gotten the screener yet but wanted to post on it for those already making out their schedules. The movie screens twice: Friday, July 14 at 8 p.m.; at Barnsdall Art Park (followed by several live performances). The second screening is Sunday July 16 at noon at DGA 2.
