Brad Pitt on Gay Marriage

brad_pitt_1.jpgWhen Charlize Theron said at this year's GLAAD Awards that she and her boyfriend Stuart Townsend wouldn't get married until gay marriage was legalized, it was a very moving moment for those of us in the audience. The Oscar winner, who played a lesbian serial killer in "Monster," seemed sincere and it made for a beautiful evening.

So now comes an even bigger star than Charlize: Brad Pitt, also coming out in support of same-sex marriage.

In an interview with "Esquire" magazine released this week, Pitt says he will not marry Angelina Jolie until restrictions on gay marriage are lifted. Jolie gave birth to their daughter Shiloh in May and Pitt has adopted her two adopted children.

"Angie and I will consider tying the knot when everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able," Pitt, divorced from Jennifer Aniston last year, tells the magazine.

You each have your ideals on religion and etc. right? Well my question to the world is how come it's bigotry when one says that a gay person is wrong for being gay, yet when a gay person says that it's wrong for the straight to be against gay marriage that they are wrong? Aren't both sides oppinions? Then who is to say that one is wrong and the other is right? How come when the guy off of the Grey's annatomy said an anti gay remark he was immediately put in theropy, yet when a person like Brad Pitt says that he won't marry until homosexuals have the right to marry, he is placed on a petal stool. Aren't we all being a bit one sided? (And please don't use the African American struggle as an example, in my opinion they have nothing to do with each other.)

after brad and angie said that they would not marry until everyone can, it made me love and respect them that much more. I take my hat off to these guys and wish that more straight people would follow their lead

GOOD! I hope they can never marry. Idiots. I can see marriage is not a priority for them, they can just keep spouting
out bastard children. If the gay community is as kind as Hollyweird makes them out to be, then they should be telling them, "go ahead and get married, do the right thing. Just because we can't, doesn't mean you shouldn't". But gays are selfish and petty and won't. I'm so sick of gays being made out to be so fantastic when they are nothing more than a bunch of sexual degenrates.

I think that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have their heads up their butts anyway. I cannot believe I ever liked Brad Pitt. He does not hold marriage very sacred anyway, so he is the wrong person to be listening to or following. You cannot change what a person does, but you do not have to impose your views on everyone else. Marriage has always been between a man and woman, there is no reason or advantage to change it other than letting depravity creep even farther into our society. People will do what they want, but leave it out of our laws.
