Brothers & Sisters: Scotty and Kevin Update

Didn't think I'd forget about Kevin and Scotty on this week's episode of "Brothers & sisters" did ya? Not a chance. But I did think the Iraq war storyline was more important so gave it a seperate post.
Last week, Scotty stormed out of the family ranch house after Kevin told him to "shut up!" in front of everyone at dinner. Wisely, Scotty stays clear of Kevin until he shows up at Kevin's law firm to accept a reward check for being a whistle blower in a civil case Kevin was handling (this is how they met).

Kevin invites Scott to lunch reasoning that they are now "equals" because Scotty just got a big check.
Scotty: "You think we're equals because I have money? I thought what makes us equals is that we're both human beings! ...I was completely wrong about you. It took me a long time to figure out what I'm worth...It's taken you two months to make me feel worthless. Congratulations!" Scotty storms out, leaving the check behind.

On a related note, I really like the close sibling relationship between Kevin and Kitty (Calista Flockhart) where they tell each other how it is and can do so because they completely trust each other. Kevin calls her a "whore" when it comes to relationships and she calls Kevin a "bitch."
Kitty: "You're the stuck-up bitch...You talked to (Scotty) like he was the hired help!"
Kevin: "Whore."
Kitty: "Bitch."

I gotta say, Kevin is a real bonehead when it comes to this money and status crap. A few weeks back, he actually offered to pay Scotty to be his date at a party Scotty was scheduled to work at as a waiter. But, since Kevin is so smart, being a waiter and all, it's interesting to make his so emotionally clueless.

But, he's learning. At the end of the episode, he calls Scotty and begins to leave a rambling apologetic message on his answering machine saying in part: "I think you're amazing and funny and cute as hell and I just hope that someday...maybe I could be worthy of your respect whether we're together or not."

Scotty, a bit tearful, picks up, and they chat a bit. He asks Kevin to please send him that check.

We'll see how this one goes. I'm rooting for them!
