Brothers & Sisters: SPOILER ALERT!

children_10_360x240.jpgAs much as so many of us have enjoyed the rocky but sweet romance between Kevin (Matthew Rhys) and Scotty (Luke MacFarland) on "Brothers & Sisters" this season, apparently their problems will be too much to overcome, according to the new issue of TV Guide.

Columnist Michael Ausiello reports that the new year "will usher in a big romance" for Kevin with Scotty apparently headed out of the picture. (Tears are falling onto my keyboard and I just wanna yell "Nooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!")

rob_lowe.jpgBut, Kitty (Calista Flockhart) has had a few rocky relationships of her own so far and is going to start something up with a new character, a senator, played by Rob Lowe. So even if Scotty leaves, the eye-candy quotient will remain strong. Lowe just gets better looking all the time, dammit.

OK, back to Kevin. The shows' executive producer Greg Berlanti tells Ausiello says Kevin will get a surprising new admirer and "he'll meet the person through Kitty." Hmmmmmmmmm. Maybe Lowe will turn out to be using Kitty to get to Kevin! Imagine, a closet-case politician!

Berlanti says it has been remarkable how little controversy the frank depiction of Kevin's love life has stirred - particularly within ABC. "IIt's a different era," says the exec producer who credits the late great "Six Feet Under" with "setting the standard" when it comes to honest portrayals of gay relationships on the small screen.
Says Berlanti: "You can't go back to creating sexless gay characters on the small screen anymore because it feels too weird."

That is so unfair!!

I love Scotty and I don't want to see him go. Luke MacFarlane is a great actor and I really want him to shine in this series as a recurring guest star and now he won't get that much chance to shine. Bah.... I'm so peeved. *grrr*
