2007 movies: from blockbusters to gay indies

You all know I'm not one to self-promote (ha!) but I would like to take this opportunity to point you to my story on the front page of today's LA Daily News that previews the 2007 movie year and all of the incredible sequels in store including a new "Spider-Man," "Harry Potter," "Pirates of the Caribbean," "Shrek," Martt Damon's "Bourne" series, among many others. So click HERE to read that piece. Nothing really gay about it except for the first three words: BY GREG HERNANDEZ!

Meanwhile, AfterElton.com has a terrific piece highlighting some of the gay-themed films that are coming your way. Click HERE to read it. Of the gay indies mentioned, I can already recommend three: "Puccini for Beginners," "Boy Culture" (pictured above) and "Eleven Men Out." And I'm very intrigued by "Race You to the Bottom" which is about two co-workers (male and female) who cheat on their respective boyfriends during a research trip in the wine country.

Greg Hernandez has covered the entertainment industry for the Daily News since 2001. He's considered a bit odd by some for his obsession with box office numbers, has been known to camp out near the kitchen at premieres for first crack at the hors d'oeurves, and Greg's never seen a red carpet he didn't want to stroll down.
