Ryan Reynolds, Chad Allen and Robert Gant among those at Sundance...
Been buried doing stories today so not as much time to blog as I'd like. But, I have been meaning to link to a preview of gay-themed or gay-related films that will be screening at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah this month. And, I'm looking for some excuse to post a few pictures of Ryan Reynolds from the film that I came acress some time ago.
PlanetOut.com writes that there appears to be fewer LGBT-interest titles than in years past. They have compiled a list that includes films with LGBT themes, as well as several films by LGBT filmmakers which may not necessarily be gay-themed.
One of those movies is "The Nines" directed and writen by John August and starring Ryan Reynolds and Hope Davis. Sundance will be its world premiere. Here is a brief synopsis: A troubled actor, a television show runner, and an acclaimed video-game designer find their lives intertwining in mysterious and unsettling ways.
As we've already noted, another film screening is "Save Me" directed by Robert Cary. Co-written by Craig Chester ("Adam & Steve"), this exploration of the ex-gay movement follows a young man (out actor Chad Allen) who is forced into a Christian gay rehab center (run by gay fave Judith Light) where he falls in love with fellow homo (out actor Robert Gant). This project has been in development for years and is one of the most anticipated gay indies in this year's festival, PlanetOut writes.
