"The Class" has fun at People's Choice...
I don't think there was any group having more fun last night than the cast of CBS's "The Class" which was named favorite new comedy at the People's Choice Awards. The cast, headed by the adorable Jason Ritter, all seem to genuinely like each other as they did all of their red carpet interviews and picture posing as a group. They also gave each other a chance to talk with no one hogging the spotlight.
But let's face it, Jason is the star and his clowning around backstage reminded me so much of his late father, John Ritter. Anyway, there was a funny moment backstage when Sean Maguire (he plays gay man Kyle Lando on the show) was asked where the absent Christian de la Fuente (who plays his boyfriend Aaron) was. Joked Maguire in his natural British accent: "He's at home with the children where he should be. He's a wonderful man and a wonderful lover!"
My only disappointment was this: where was my favorite character, Perry Pearl? He's the gayest straight man ever and played by the great Sam Harris, an openly gay actor, singer and Broadway star. Sam, we want to see you at these events! You're the best!

Greg Hernandez has covered the entertainment industry for the Daily
News since 2001. He's considered a bit odd by some for his obsession
with box office numbers, has been known to camp out near the kitchen
at premieres for first crack at the hors d'oeurves, and Greg's never
seen a red carpet he didn't want to stroll down.
