"The Night Listener" out on DVD next week
Not too many people caught "The Night Listener" when it was in theaters last summer judging from its paltry box office grosses. But it's certainly worth checking out when it comes on out DVD Jan. 9. It's got Robin Williams as a gay radio host whose ex-boyfriend is played by Bobby Cannavale who was Will's boyfriend on "Will & Grace." But the best performance comes from the immensely talented Toni Collette who elevates any movie she is in.
The film follows Gabriel Noone (Williams), a celebrated writer and late-night radio show host who develops an intense phone relationship with a young listener named Pete (Rory Culkin) and his adopted mother (Colette). When troubling questions arise regarding the boy's identity, it causes Gabriel's ordered existence to spin wildly out of control at he sets out on a harrowing journey to find the truth.
Bonus features include a deleted scene (no idea what it is yet) as well as "The Night Listener Revealed:" an in-depth look at the movie’s plot twists.
