TR Knight and "Grey's Anatomy" cast at People's Choice...

Kind of a whirlwind day yesterday with little time to post. But, I'm back with a vengeance today! Was at the People's Choice Awards last night. My assignment was to blog from backstage (see the LA Daily News On the Red Carpet site) but I hovered around the red carpet as long as I could until showtime. Stood behind some guy from the E! channel who looks like a younger Mark Steines because all the celebs were coming over to him including just about every star from "Grey's Anatomy." Patrick Dempsey was THE man last night. Yeah, he's McDreamy - no doubt about it. I've never seen him in person and must say, the hair is amazing. It would be so nice to have more hair.
But, I digress.
Chandra Wilson, singled out last week with a Screen Actors Guild nomination for best actress, had a special glow about her in her first big appearance since the nod. I'm happy for her. Last year at the SAG awards, she was overshadowed by Sandra Oh and others but could not have been nicer as she stopped to talk to me and introduced me to her daughter. Standing next to her that night a year ago was T.R. Knight who I didn't even bother to talk to because I had spotted Mark Valley from "Bostoin Legal" and wanted to talk to HIM. Sheesh. Little did I know that T.R. would become such a big story when he confirmed via press release that he is gay. This came after Dempsey and co-star Isiah Washington had an on-set scuffle and Washington said he wasn't Dempsey's "little faggot" like someone else. Turned out he was referring to Knight.
So, a year later, T.R. still seems shell-shocked by all of the attention his coming out has brought and while he posed for a few pictures on the red carpet, he made a quick beeline past all of the television reporters as his co-stars preened and basked in the spotlight. He seems shy anyway but I felt badly that he seems to feel so uncomfortable now and avoids interviews. I can't even find any photos online today. Backstage, he stood off to the side (next to McSteamy Eric Dane) and said nothing as Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson, Kate Waslsh and Sandra Oh talked about their fashion choices.
Then someone asked Sandra how it felt to be named to Mr. Blackwell's worst dressed list earlier in the day. She looked confused and finally said: 'I don't even know who that is."Good for her! She looked great and also was lovely at the SAG award nomination annoucements last week. I think Blackwell needs to maybe get some new eyeglasses and stop being such a bitch!

with box office numbers, has been known to camp out near the kitchen
at premieres for first crack at the hors d'oeurves, and Greg's never
seen a red carpet he didn't want to stroll down.
