Craig was named best actor for "Casino Royale," his debut outing as James Bond at the Evening Standard British Film Award's in London. Craig, who has won both critical praise and box office favor as the first blond Bond, is also up for the best-actor prize at next week's British Academy Film Awards.
Gee, I just couldn't find a photos online of Craig at the awards ceremony (okay, I didn't look very hard) so here is an image of just some random scene from "Casino Royale." Ha! I think I've posted a variation of this shot maybe a dozen times in the last 4-5 months. It's a good one, huh?
Craig will be hoping to follow it up next week with a Bafta, where he is up against the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Peter O'Toole. Helen Mirren, who is an Academy Awards favorite for her turn as Queen Elizabeth II in "The Queen," lost the best actress prize to Judi Dench, awarded for her portrayal of a predatory lesbian schoolteacher in "Notes on a Scandal."
