Jason Lewis of "Brothers & Sisters" pays visit to Ellen...
I was among those who was ticked off by Jason Lewis' interview with "Extra" last month which seemed to have him a little greaked out over being "forced" to kiss the gorgeous Matthew Rhys as part of his role as a closeted soap opera star in "Brothers & Sisters." I mean hey, hire Robert Gant for the role. He's just as gorgeous, a better actor than Lewis in my opinion, and he doesn't mind kissing guys because he is open about being gay!
But, we still have most of the gay roles being played by straight men and we'll just have to live with that since gay men (most in the closet) are playing plenty of heterosexual roles in television and film! Wow, where was I going with all of this? Oh yeah, I wanted to write about seeing Lewis on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" this afternoon and he seemed nervous, but he came off better than in the "Extra" interview. He walked to the sound of Donna Summer's "Hot Stuff" and was carrying roses for the lovely Ellen. He said to her: "You're like my Valentine now because I'm single." (Lewis and the gorgeous and talented Rosario Dawson broke up last fall).
Ellen showed a clip from last Sunday's "Brothers & Sisters" with Lewis and Rhys just getting out of bed and talking about their secret relationship. Says Rhys' Kevin Walker: "This is giving my ulcer an anxiety attack."

As you already know, the episode ends with Kevin sleeping with old flame Scotty (Luke MacFarlane) t make Lewis' Chad jealous. It works. Chad dumps Kevin over the phone then Scotty figures it all out andsays goodbye too. So Ellen asked Lewis about playing a gay character. He said his only "trepidation" was about the quality of the role. He says he likes where the writers have taken his storyline: "You've got people with real issues...being in a place where you don;t know yourself" and in the process, end up hurting a lot of people as you figure yourself out.
And what about that kissing a boy stuff?
"It was a new experience," he said. "I get nerves. I get nerves kissing a girl. It's your job."

I saw it too and posted the fact that Jason would be on Ellen over at the Brothers and Sisters Writers Blog.
I thought Jason was "cute" in his manner. I haven't seen that cuteness on Bro & Sis. I think maybe his answers were well-rehearsed before the questions ever came out of Ellen's mouth.
I have the feeling that Ellen has never seen Brothers and Sisters.
Her endorsement of the show seemed half-hearted and lukewarm. And I don't know how she could have those feelings about the show IF indeed she has been watching it.

I also have an entire post on Kevin & Scotty and oh, yeah, Chad, after "Valentine's Day Massacre" over at my blog at tvguide.com under "Community Bloggers" on the Brothers and Sisters Cast & Detail Page, as author ilovemylife.
