Melissa Ethridge on Oscar nod...

730572_356x237.jpgThe magnificant Melissa Ethridge, so vibrant and beautiful, said at Monday's Oscar lunch that being nominated for an Academy Award is a lot different than being up for a Grammy. Melissa, nominated for best song for her "I Need to Wake Up" from the documentary "An Inconvenient Truth," tells Marilyn Beck's column that "being an Oscar nominee is a hundred times more intense. It's old school. They have rules and they do things by the rules. The Grammys are more laid back."
From what I could see at the luncheon, Melissa seemed quite at ease in the company of her fellow nominees and was a popular figure in the room. It could be that she just has so much more experience at the Grammys. She's won two and been nominated a total of 14 times.
Melissa, who has a new studio album out by the end of 2007, tells Beck's column that she would not hesitate to do another song for a film: "If the right projects come along."
