Out In Hollywood's mailbox...
Good afternoon! I'd love if more people posted comments to the various postings on the blog. Those of you who do add so much to the conversation. It's also nice to get e-mails from folks and I'm going to print a sampling of them every other week or so.
Enjoy!
Hi Greg, I recently found your Out in Hollywood site and so enjoyed reading it! I am a grandmother, a long time member of PFLAG, and a volunteer at our local gay and lesbian center (I am their 'token, straight grandmother').
Your blog was so interesting and full of really good information and insight. I loved the pictures! Also found out I can go to an ABC site and catch up on Brothers & Sisters (also one of my favorite shows). I missed the last episode, the one that introduced Kevin's new love interest, so I'll now go hunt it up. Kevin is such a thoroughly good and decent youngman, he is my favorite character, by far. Thank you for your efforts and you keep those typing fingers busy!

Just found your blog... its a lot of fun to see the inside coverage from a fans POV, less than that of a jaded journalist. Good stuff.

You lose all credibility when you call a journeyman player like John Amaechi a NBA star. His best year he only averaged about 10 points a game and spent almost half his career in Europe.

Just wanted to say, as a regular reader of your site (I check it daily for the latest news), that I think what you do is really great! I read afterelton as well but it is always great to read your personal opinions as well even if you are
covering the same topic.
Please keep up the good work!!

I just read your positive review of Diana Ross’ latest cd and wanted you to know that “To Be Loved’ was written by her long-time mentor, Berry Gordy, many years ago for Jackie Wilson. It was a hit for Jackie Wilson then. I read somewhere that Diana called Berry the night she completed recording it and played her new cover of the song over the phone for him.
Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2007!
Sincerely,
- Paul Cesario
Your article [In Today's Hollywood, More Gays Out of the Closet] was very good and while I believe all should be who they are in the open do you honestly believe that they had to step up and say we are gay we knew Harris,Ellen and ect were the same as we knew Hanks,Howard ect weren't---Bless them all and as long as decent, good citizens---WHO CARES----- Keep up the good writing and I don't care about your sexual preference.

Interesting article, very well-researched and informative. While you mentioned Rosie O'Donnell, you didn't address the point of what her high-profile feud with Donald Trump could mean to gay, and especially lesbian, television personalities. I fear it could be a big setback, especially if Trump wins.

Hi,I disagree with you about the Kennedy Center Honors performances. I was at the gala on dec 3rd and by all accounts and those sitting next to me Shania Twain gave a flawless and heartfelt version of ,'coat of many colors". Shania's beautiful tone and voice gave meaning to the song. she didn't over sing and put the focus on the song. I saw Dolly and Shania each have tears in their eyes afterwards.
And every message board I have been and even Dolly fans are praising Shania's great performance. she brought beauty, class and talent to the show. You obviously have something against Shania. Maybe it is that she is gorgeous, talented, filthly rich and a music icon herself and she refused you an interview years ago. Buy a hearing aid next time.

I noticed at how your review of the Kennedy Center Honors you went out of you way to trash Shania by saying she did a just OKay performance. You are typical of all jealous people of Shania. Shania has more talent in her pinky than all the others combined, she can sing any style and thats why she is an icon worldwide and the best selling country female of alltime. In fact Dolly says Shania's version of Coat of Many Colors is the best she has ever heard. Shania grew up singing it as kid in run down bars so with all due respect Shania's performance was the most heart felt and best of the night according to many.
Shania has many jealous critics because she turns down interviews and is private and is such a massive success but the truth she has a great voice and can sing any style and her version of COAT OF MANY colors is just fantastic. I know you will say that it is just your opinioin but the truth is that people like you like to bash Shania nomatter what she does or sings. Shania is a true talented megastar who knows how to sing a country or pop song and do a great job of it. So maybe open up your ears and learn what good singing is.

Dear Greg,
Thanks so much for your recent reports on the DGA and the Oscar luncheon - I especially enjoyed reading your
account because Leonardo DiCaprio has for a long time been my favorite actor. I wish there was a video clip
somewhere so I could see the speech he gave in introducting Scorsese. Again, thanks for letting us readers have a glimpse into events that we wouldn't otherwise have had the details that you provided on. My peer Leo fans on this
message board were also very pleased to read about them through your blog.
