Thank heavens: Jaclyn Smith returns to television...

ajaclyn.jpgWhen the lovely Jaclyn Smith walked onto the stage at last fall's Emmy Awards to pay tribute to "Charlie's Angels" creator Aaron Spelling, the audience went wild to see her, Farrah Fawcett and Kate Jackson together again - 30 years after they made their debut as the prettiest detectives in the history of television. All three looked terrific but it was the ageless Smith who most were marveling over. I was thrilled when she came backstage to meet the press on Emmy night and most of the questions were about how she manages to look so good. Her answer: "Good living."
aemmyangels2.jpgHer awards show appearance did not go unnoticed. It has led to her return to weekly television for the first time since her recurring role on CBS' "The District" several years back. The age-defying Smith, 61, will host Bravo's "Top Hair" which will pit stylists against each other to see who can do the best 'do.'
"Bravo saw her on the Emmys and thought she was great, which she is, a stylish woman — and she has great hair. She's gorgeous. She's A-plus. She totally wanted to take it on right away," "Top Hair" producer Ben Silverman tells Marilyn Beck.
agreg.jpgI had the good fortune of meeting this beauty three years ago at the premiere of "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," a film in which she had a cameo. I told her that when her scene came up, the audience cheered (we had been sitting in separate auditoriums at Graumann's). She was so gracious and asked her husband to snap a picture of us. It's my favorite picture ever with a female celebrity. I have shots with Ryan Reynolds, Sean William Scott and Keifer Sutherland that top the male list. Anyhow, I am glad to have a reason to share this picture of me with a very classy lady. And just for comparisons, check out below a picture of Smith, Jackson and Fawcett taken 30 years ago. When you compare it to the Emmy photos, it really is as though time has stood still.
