The other Capote fim, "Infamous," on DVD Feb. 13...Daniel Craig in it too!

12207__infamous_l.jpgThe lesson of the film "Infamous" is that when a movie with the same story ("Capote") is released only the year before and wins an Oscar for its leading man (Phillip Seymour Hoffman), you're pretty much dead in the water at the box office. And you get ignored Oscar-time. Heck, I think Toby Jones was as good as Hoffman as Capote and in some scenes, more believable. Sandra Bullock was just as good as Catherine Keener as Harper Lee.

I think Craig, who is finally a superstar thanks to his role as James Bond, gives a performance worthy of an Oscar nomination - certainly more worthy than Mark Wahlberg's performance in "The Departed." Craig was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award at least.
Since the box office was pitiful for this film, I hope plenty of you will check it out for yourselves when it goes on sale as a DVD on Feb. 13. It doesn't have many extras other than commentary by filmmaker Douglas McGrath but I really do think, in this case, the movie itself is more than enough.
