Alec Mapa checks in with Out In Hollywood...
I'm a huge Alec Mapa fan and have been ever since he appeared on the the short-lived sitcom "Some of My Best Friends" based on the indie movie "Kiss Me Guido." Alec stole every scene he was in and I think after Saturday night's truly hilarious stand-up routine at the GLAAD Awards, everyone in that room now knows exactly what I'm talking about.
I've profiled Alec in the past so it was hugs and kisses hello when I talked to him on the red carpet prior to the show. I asked if his current stand-up show was going to show up on TV soon.
"Hopefully you'll see it on Bravo or Logo or Comedy Central - whoever pays the most to buy it!"
Then, I had to ask him about his hair which I can't really put into words so I'm glad there are photos to kind of explain it.
"I just got back from Tokyo and, believe or not, in Japan, this is a very conservative hairdo. This is like what Southern Baptists look like in Japan."
So, is he going to be appearing in any more episodes of "Desperate Housewives" as Gabby's (Eva Longoria)fesity and quick-witted fashion designer friend?
"I just finished shooting one this week and I think I'll be in the season finale. I put [Gabby] in her place and she's the only person on the show who's shorter than me!"
