McGreevey to Dina: "You're no Jackie Kennedy"

I pretty much already thought Jim McGreevey was a creep. Now he's turning into a mud-slinging bitch.
1092433969_2041.jpgIn divorce papers filed Monday, McGreevey says that his wife, who he referred to as a "bitter, vengeful woman," knew he was gay before they married.
"Although it is clear that the Defendant (Dina Matos McGreevey) knew of my sexual orientation before our marriage, she chose to either ignore it or block it out of her mind, even when questioned by her friends," McGreevey wrote, according to Live from the Ledger, the website for The Star-Ledger of Newark.
It would seem that this is payback to Matos who has penned a tell-all book "Silent Partner: A Memoir of My Marriage." In the book, due out May 1, the former governor is described as self-absorbed and controlling, and Matos writes that, among other demands, he insisted she move out of the governor's mansion before his official resignation so she wouldn't "look like white trash."
mcgreevey_wife2.jpgMatos McGreevey wrote that her husband offered only an indifferent apology days after he appeared on national television in Aug. 2004 and announced "I am a gay American" and said he would resign. Before that appearance, she wrote, McGreevey told her, "You have to pull yourself together. You have to be Jackie Kennedy today," and repeatedly told her what to say and how to act in the aftermath of his admission.
She also writes that she had no idea her husband was gay until three days before he made his "I am a gay American speech."
As is always the case with a war-of-words involving James McGreevey, someone is not telling the truth and the former governor has a huge credibility problem with me. No way does he end up looking good in any of this any way you look at it...

I agree with your assessment. If McGreevey knew he was gay when they got married, then why did he do it, and why is he blaming her now? What, did she drag him kicking and screaming to the altar?
